Die Stadt Greiz im Bundesland Thüringen stellt Geflüchtete, die dort untergebracht sind, vor zahlreiche Herausforderungen – basierend auf Gesetzen, die angeblich „gerecht“ sein sollen: Von schlechten Bedingungen in den Unterkünften über eingeschränkte Sozialleistungen bis hin zur Bezahlkarte, mit der Geflüchtete nur innerhalb der Stadt einkaufen dürfen. Doch Essen ist nicht alles – Menschen brauchen Bargeld für viele andere Lebensbereiche. Bisher kauften viele Geflüchtete Gutscheinkarten bei Lidl oder Edeka, die dann von Unterstützungsgruppen abgekauft wurden, um Bargeld zu ermöglichen. Seit einigen Monaten verweigern diese Geschäfte in Greiz jedoch den Verkauf dieser Gutscheine an Geflüchtete – offenbar auf Wunsch des Sozialamts oder der Ausländerbehörde. Wir von LANTERN e.V.i.G wollen mit den Leuten zu sprechen. Deshalb veranstalten wir am Samstag, den 10. Mai 2025 in Greiz ein kulturelles und solidarisches Begegnungsfest. Marco und Ronja vom Theaterhaus Jena kehren von ihrer einmonatigen Recherchereise durch Thüringen zurück und erzählen von ihren Begegnungen, Entdeckungen und Momenten voller Hoffnung, Zweifel, Wut und Zauber – und ja, auch von einem LKW voller Pudding! Demonstration against extremism in Apolda On 01.02.2025 the AfD youth organization called JA (Junge Alternative) which is known as a far-right extremist group, plans to hold its federal congress in Apolda. They might even give birth to AfDs new youth organization. This congress has to be viewed highly critically as it a gathering of many ambitious and young extremists that oppose every value we as a diverse society stand for. In response therefore numerous organizations and groups that stand for equality, solidarity and resistance against right-wing-extremism have come together to organize a large protest against this congress. Lantern is also supporting this protest against the JA-congress. Veranstaltung zur Yalda-Nacht durch Lantern und den Persischer Kulturverein Mitteldeutschland Die feierliche Yalda-Nacht wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Lantern und dem persischsprachigen Kulturverein unter der regen Teilnahme von Persischsprachigen und Gästen aus anderen Ländern veranstaltet. Diese Nacht, die als längste Nacht des Jahres ein Symbol für Zusammenkunft, Freundschaft und Freude in der iranischen Kultur ist, wurde in einer warmen und einladenden Atmosphäre gefeiert und bot eine wertvolle Gelegenheit für den kulturellen Austausch zwischen Teilnehmern verschiedener Nationalitäten. Das vielfältige Programm des Abends umfasste Gedichtrezitationen, Live-Musik mit den Instrumenten Tar, Setar und Daf, Gruppenspiele und Tanz, die für alle Anwesenden unvergessliche und emotionale Momente schufen. Screening of the documentary film about women affected by the #Women_Life_Freedom revolution by the Iranian government, at the Theater House of Jena on 08.11.2024. During the recent protests in Iran, women played an outstanding role in leading and promoting the protest movements. Many of these brave women were at the forefront of the demonstrations, becoming symbols of the fight for social and political change with the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom." However, alongside this activism, women were also subjected to severe forms of violence. One of the most brutal examples of this oppression was the targeting of the eyes of protesting women and young people. Security forces aimed directly at the faces and eyes of young women, not only to silence the voice of protest but also to erase the visual symbols of resistance. On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, we had a program planned for visiting and providing to the Suhl camp. This time we decided to bring food with a Food Truck to the camp, which turned out to be very efficient and helpful. The presence of the Food Truck helped completely resolve the hygiene issues that had previously existed during food distribution, allowing the process to be carried out in an organized and sanitary manner. This experience showed us how much having the right equipment can positively impact the quality of support provided to the refugees. In this program, the main meal was falafel sandwiches, served alongside a variety of beverages. After the meal, tea and hot coffee were prepared for everyone, accompanied by Baklava as a dessert.  For the children, we had also prepared some surprises, including chocolates and Kinder Surprise eggs, which brought a lot of joy and excitement to them. Hello dear friends In Saturday ۲۴/۰۲/۲۰۲۴ we went to Suhl Camp with the LANTERN food project and cooked in the church kitchen, the food was lentil with minced meat and raisin pilaf, which turned out to be very delicious. To prepare this dish, 30 kilos of special Irani rice, 15 kilos Lentils, 15 kilos of fresh minced meat, 9 kilos of raisins, 8 liters of oil, 400 disposable containers, salt, black pepper, turmeric, and cinnamon were used, and more than four hundred food presses were distributed, but people still came to get food, more than Out of 1100 people live in this camp and unfortunately we could not feed everyone!
