Lantern Food Projekt in Suhl 15.03.2025

Seit den frühen Morgenstunden am Freitag waren 13 engagierte Mitglieder des Lantern-Food-Projekts mit dem Einkaufen, Vorbereiten und Kochen für das Lager in Suhl beschäftigt. Sie haben Essen für rund 350 Menschen zubereitet. Das heutige Menü bestand aus Hähnchenwurst-Sandwiches und Kartoffeln mit Salat, dazu gab es Tee, Kaffee, Kuchen und natürlich Schokolade für die Kinder. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Mitglieder von Lantern, die immer vor Ort sind und diese wertvolle Arbeit freiwillig leisten. Ein besonderer Dank geht auch an die engagierte Gruppe von Medinetz, die uns wie immer unterstützt haben. The Official Establishment of Lantern Organization Wednesday, 04.12.2024, marked a special day for Lantern, as it officially registered as an organization after two and a half years of continuous efforts in cultural, political, social, and artistic fields, particularly focusing on migrants and refugee camps. The formal meeting to establish Lantern as a multinational organization took place at the Migranetz Office in Weimar, officially initiating the registration process. The initial core team consists of seven members from diverse nationalities, with plans to welcome more members in the future to create a collaborative platform for multicultural communities. The organization aims to address the challenges faced by migrants using culture and art as strong tools to raise awareness, foster solidarity, and improve social conditions. Lantern will continue organizing cultural events, such as theatre, music, poetry, literature, and workshops, to facilitate cultural exchange and connection....

Screening of the documentary film about women affected by the #Women_Life_Freedom revolution by the Iranian government, at the Theater House of Jena on 08.11.2024. During the recent protests in Iran, women played an outstanding role in leading and promoting the protest movements. Many of these brave women were at the forefront of the demonstrations, becoming symbols of the fight for social and political change with the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom." However, alongside this activism, women were also subjected to severe forms of violence. One of the most brutal examples of this oppression was the targeting of the eyes of protesting women and young people. Security forces aimed directly at the faces and eyes of young women, not only to silence the voice of protest but also to erase the visual symbols of resistance.
